Starting this Wednesday, March 23, G Street between Pacific Highway and Union Street will begin to be converted to a one-way street.
The conversion is part of the San Diego Quiet Zone project, which is designed to improve safety at 13 railway crossings (from Laurel Street to Park Boulevard) throughout downtown and eliminate the requirement for trains to blare their horns late at night – a significant impact to residents, businesses and hotel visitors. Other Quiet Zone safety improvements include additional gates, medians, traffic signals as well as state-of-the-art railroad signaling to alert pedestrians and motorists about oncoming trains. The Quiet Zone is targeted for completion early next year.

The Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge that connects the waterfront and East Village opened today! To celebrate the bridge’s opening, The San Diego Padres have special activities planned for the Padres Opening Day, Tuesday April 5th. The celebration will include live music and appearances by the Swinging Friar and the Pad Squad.
Interesting Facts about the bridge:
- One of the longest self-anchored pedestrian suspension bridges in the world
- 550 feet long; 130 foot center angled pylon
Check out the photos from my first walk across the bridge. If you haven’t had a chance to visit the bridge, add the bridge to your downtown walking or running route.

When I’m contacted by a buyer looking for a Downtown San Diego condo, they almost always tell me they want a water view. Most don’t realize how amazing it is to have both a water and city view. In my opinion, the 01 stack of the Park Place condominiums offer the best views downtown, not to mention my favorite floor plan. My team listed a spectacular 01 unit at Park Place. It’s located on the 21st floor and has unobstructed water and city views. Park Place #2101 is 1545 square feet, 2 bedrooms plus den, 2 balconies with western, northern, and eastern views. Asking Price $949,000
Park Place is located in the Marina District of Downtown San Diego, across from Seaport Village. Park Place was built by Bosa Development in 2003. Bosa Development also built Horizons, The Legend, Discovery, Electra, The Grande, and Bayside.
If you would like more information about this condo, or other Park Place condos for sale, please contact me at 619-962-2471.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock in the middle of San Diego’s Wild Animal Park, you know that this Sunday is football’s biggest contest and celebration—The Super Bowl! And if you’ve been thinking that you’d like to celebrate in style but don’t want to clean up after your friends, you have several options in San Diego.
And just because the Chargers aren’t participating this year doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time… The question is, where?
NBCSanDiego lists their pick of the top 10 Super Bowl parties here CLICK HERE but don’t overlook neighborhood spots and joints, or the chains.
If you live in Downtown San Diego, check out the Tilted Kilt, located in the East Village at 10th & K, next to Petco Park. The Tilted Kilt is having a raffle with autographed gear and planning an Armchair Quarterback Contest.
Another great Downtown San Diego location to watch The Super Bowl is at Whiskey Girl, located at 5th & Market, in the Gaslamp. Doors open at Whiskey Girl at 11 am. Whiskey Girl will also have raffle giveaways and drink specials!
And if reading the penality isn’t your strong play, check this out to brush up on the signals and impress your friends.

But if you don’t have someone in your group who’ll volunteer to be the designated driver or if going out to watch the game seems like too much work, just cover your living room in plastic, order up a pony keg and call Domino’s. Because after all, the big game only happens once a year!
